Outside, there are several seating areas to choose from – a courtyard with picnic tables, two walled sculpture gardens and a chiminea with platform for disposable barbeques. The views from the lighthouse complex are stunning – to the north and east the hills of Hoy and South Ronaldsay in the Orkney Islands stretch across the horizon, while to the west on a clear day the views extend all the way to the hills of Cape Wrath.
