Important Information for Guests
As responsible property owners, we are committed to ensuring that our properties are as safe as possible for our guests during the current virus pandemic.
Cleaning of our cottages is carried out by a professional company whose staff have completed an accredited training course on Cleaning and Infection Control with a particular focus on Covid-19.
All cleaning staff wear full PPE of disposable gloves, shoe coverings, aprons and masks which are changed between cleans. In addition to the standard cleaning expected in a self-catering property, the cottages are disinfected using appropriate specialist products. Particular attention is paid to surfaces which are touched frequently, such as light switches, door handles, kitchen surfaces and bathroom surfaces. Staff also employ a specialist Fogging Machine which delivers a non-toxic sanitising “fog” into all areas of the property.
In addition to providing fresh bed linen and towels, all pillow and mattress protectors are changed between lets. Following standard laundering, all bed linen and towels are washed in a special sanitising solution.
Finally, cottages are left vacant for at least 30 hours between guests and for your protection we employ a contactless check-in and check-out via a key safe.
IMPORTANT – BED LINEN AND TOWELS – At the end of your stay, we ask that you strip the beds of sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers and place all linen and towels in the bag provided.
Please DO NOT SHAKE OUT the linen before you bag it.
IF YOU DEVELOP OR ARRIVE WITH COVID-19 SYMPTOMS
If you, or any of your party, develop or arrive with Covid-19 symptoms, please follow current Scottish Government guidelines:
1. Immediately book a test through NHS Inform (https://www.nhsinform.scot/self-help-guides/self-help-guide-access-to-testing-forcoronavirus). If you can’t get online, book a test by phoning
0800 028 2816.
2. In accordance with Test and Protect, https://www.nhsinform.scot/campaigns/testand-protect, people with symptoms are required to self-isolate for at least 7 days, and everyone in their household should isolate for 14 days. If the test is negative, everyone can end isolation. If the test is positive, everyone should continue to isolate, and the NHS Test and Protect team will be in touch to start contact tracing. Those contacted through the Test and Protect programme will be required to self-isolate for at least 14 days.
3. If guests who are isolating can travel home safely to isolate, avoiding the use of public transport, they should do this. In the event that this is not possible, the guest should discuss this with the NHS Test and Protect team. The guest may be signposted to the National Assistance Helpline on 0800 111 4000 if they need help to isolate and cannot arrange it themselves or through friends and family.
In some circumstances further discussion may be required with the local Health Protection Team and local authority to ensure that the person has suitable accommodation to isolate safely and effectively.
Please note that you will not be able to isolate in your holiday accommodation.
After the required period of self-isolation, guests and anyone else in their party who has been affected can then return to their main place of residence.
4. If you test positive for Covid-19, please immediately inform your host, Dr Keith Nicholson, by telephoning 07899 062 965.
